Steve Riedl has been appointed as the new Associate Director for the Division of Academic Technologies in OLAT.  Steve is new to the Omaha area coming to us from Kansas where he served for nearly eight years as the Director of Technology Development and Support at the University of Kansas (KU), School of Architecture and Urban Design. His decision to leave higher education was guided by his desire to move closer to family in the Nebraska and Iowa areas.

In 2006, Steve joined BCDM, Inc., a local architecture firm, as the Vice President for Information Technology where he spent the majority of his time in strategic technical development. Steve also teaches Information and Technology Management at Nebraska Methodist College in the Medical Group Administration track. Over the last decade Steve’s role at KU and at BCDM can best be summarized as a technology integrator. He brings a love for higher education, and several years of experience to our team. Steve’s passions in his field of expertise involve information assurance, IT security, and business continuity.

Steve and his wife Tammy have four children, (all girls) Cassandra 2, Amanda 4, Jennifer 6, and Melinda 7 (almost 8). He spends the majority of his free time just being a dad and enjoys the outdoors, specifically camping and fishing.

Steve may be contacted at steveriedl@creighton.edu, x3353, or in Criss 155A.
