The current University policy, Quality in Distance Education Programs, includes a provision that faculty engage in development activities to prepare them for the online classroom. Introduction to Teaching and Learning - an online seminar A resource for faculty new to the online classroom as well as veterans seeking resources and information to enhance their online teaching. This self-directed and self-paced seminar contains modules designed to provide you with a theoretical framework for teaching online as well as some practical suggestions and tools. Seminar topics include: Overview of best practices, assessment in the online classroom, creating and facilitating virtual groups, course design, instructor roles in the online classroom, management and support of online learners, copyright. Introduction to Teaching and Learning Workgroups To form a workgroup of faculty preparing to teach online contact Ms. Michele King in the Office for Academic Excellence and Assessment at mking@creighton.edu. Workgroups generally meet face-to-face and work through the online seminar Introduction to Teaching and Learning in 304 sessions of 1.5 hours each.
