Mentors should embody and model the following attributes:
The mentor coordinator will contact each IOR at the beginning of the semester prior to the actual course offering to begin discussions on education mentor needs. A timeline will be developed, outlining each step of the recruitment process:
Instructional designers from OLAT meet with each IOR to discuss online course development an teaching strategies. These individuals also help IOR determine mentor responsibilities.
The number of mentors provided per course will be determined by one or both of hate following methods:
The mentor recruitment for elective courses differs from course courses in that student enrollment numbers are required before contracts will be distributed. Enrollment of at least 20 students is required for mentor assistance (i.e. based on 20:1 ratio)
