Distance Education Focused Journals


The following distance education focused journals may be of interest to faculty and staff wishing to learn more about distance education or publish their distance education focused scholarship.

AACE Journal
The AACE Journal (AACEJ) was originally a print journal entitled Educational Technology Review (ETR). AACEJ provides a multidisciplinary forum and focal point for AACE members to exchange information between disciplines, educational levels, and information technologies. American Journal of Distance Education [Subscription required, available for checkout from OLAT]
AJDE is an internationally recognized journal of research and scholarship in the field of American distance education. EDUCAUSE Quarterly (EQ) and EDUCAUSE Review
EDUCAUSE Information Resources provide access to collections of materials related to managing and using information resources in higher education. These include materials developed by EDUCAUSE and other organizations. Online abstracts are available for new and currently available books, monographs and other publications, with links to ordering information for the full copy. First Monday
First Monday is one of the first openly accessible, peer–reviewed journals on the Internet, solely devoted to the Internet. First Monday is indexed in Communication Abstracts, Computer & Communications Security Abstracts, DoIS, eGranary Digital Library, INSPEC, Information Science & Technology Abstracts, LISA, PAIS, and other services.

International Journal of Learning and Media [Subscription required]

International Review of Research in Open and Distance Learning (IRRODL)
The purpose of IRRODL is to disseminate scholarly knowledge in open and distance learning theory, research, and best practice to distance education practitioners and scholars worldwide. The Journal of Asynchronous Learning Networks (JALN)

The Journal of Distance Education
