Should I submit my application early or wait for
fall grades to be submitted?
Applicants are encouraged to submit applications early
to ensure timely processing. It is possible that an
application file will not be complete without fall
grades; however, as soon as received, the application
will reviewed by the admission committee.
Why would
not having fall grades make a file incomplete?
The admission committees have certain requirements that
must be met before reviewing an application. Receipt of
fall grades may be necessary to meet such requirements.
Pharmacy requires a grade in Organic Chemistry I;
physical therapy requires 16 semester hours of graded
science; and occupational therapy requires a minimum of
45 graded semester hours.
Do you use "rolling
admission"?
We use a modified "rolling" admission process. The
admission committees begin reviewing complete
applications in late fall. Applicants selected to
interview are invited on a rolling basis and admission
decisions are made after each round of interviews.
How competitive is the application process?
We receive many more applications than available space
in the class. Not all qualified applicants are able to
be interviewed or admitted. For each program, we
typically interview two applicants for each space in the
class.
Are observation hours required?
Physical therapy requires documentation for at least 60
observation, shadowing, volunteering, or work with a
licensed physical therapist. It is not required, but
highly suggested, that occupational therapy and pharmacy
applicants have health care experience as well.
Is there a
limit on the age of coursework?
No.
What coursework is considered in calculating
GPA?
All college coursework is considered when cumulative GPA
is calculated. With repeated courses, both grades are
used. With concurrent enrollment/dual credit college
coursework completed in high school, the grades are
used.
May prerequisite courses be completed online?
Online courses from any regionally accredited
institution may be taken to fulfill prerequisites with
the exception of laboratory components for science
courses. All labs must be done in a traditional college
campus setting.
Do you accept Advanced Placement
(AP) and CLEP credit?
Yes, we accept AP and CLEP credit. It must appear on an
official transcript from a previously attended
institution.
Is there a limited on the age of the
GRE, PCAT, or TOEFL exam scores?
GRE and PCAT scores are valid for three years. TOEFL
scores are valid for two years as language proficiency
may change considerably in a relatively short period of
time.
May I apply to both pathways?
No. Students must select one pathway on the Creighton
Supplemental online application.
Our admission representatives start travel in mid-September and will visit institutions in nearly 20 states during the fall and spring.
